Taste Buds

After observing my three year old for well, about three years, I have a question.

What in the world is going on with her taste buds? Seriously.

How in the world can she refuse to take more than one bite of a rather bland, though tasty bowl of baked potato soup, and instead eat strawberries dipped in ketchup? Then, as if that weren't enough, a mere hour later she follows up her bath by licking lotion off of her hands. What!?

Don't even get me started on how many times I've found her hiding and eating dog food.

Aren't taste buds supposed to dull as we age? If that is so, maybe there is hope for her eating "normal" food combinations one day. Until then, I guess I better hide the dog food and keep a close eye on my lotion.
